On March 17-20, 2019, ASD Market Week once again took over Las Vegas and welcomed over 45,000 attendees at the Las Vegas Convention Center. As the most comprehensive trade show for consumer merchandise in the United States, ASD delivered an efficient and exciting buying experience for retailers of all sizes – introducing them to inventory across categories that included gift and home, fashion and accessories, beauty and fragrance, souvenir and novelty, convenience store items, general store inventory, closeout merchandise, CBD, cannabis and vape, and more.

While discovering stand-out inventory, attendees were also able to participate in over 100 complimentary educational sessions. Special partnerships with SourceDirect, the Independent Retailer Conference and the Internet Merchant Association allowed seminars to cover all topics retailers need to know to run a successful business. ASD Market Week also introduced two main stages directly on the show floor in Central Hall, which allowed for attendees on the show floor experience these complimentary educational experiences more easily.
Among the sessions featured at ASD Market Week, Carlos Marquez, Latin business expert, spoke to a standing-room-only crowd on how to grow your online business when selling to Latin America. Other popular sessions included a panel discussion on how to support women shoppers across all generations that featured consumers ranging in age from 10 to 45, what you need to know about tariffs with Gail Strickland, and a keynote discussing how to drive retail results through employee culture presented by best-selling author Chris Edmonds.
In addition to exploring high-margin inventory and participating in a variety of educational experiences, attendees were invited to a variety of social events. SourceDirect hosted Customer Appreciation Night on opening day of ASD, and there was also an after-hours opening night cocktail party – appropriately called Sip & Socialize – held at the Paradise Lounge at the SLS Hotel. Additionally, ASD brought back Twilight Market by popular request, extending normal Exhibit Hall hours in the popular Cash & Carry section so buyers and vendors could shop with a cocktail in hand and into the evening. Attendees and exhibitors alike could enjoy the photo booth and refreshments provided.
Returning to ASD March 2019 was ASD LIVE, which highlighted a variety of products on the show floor ranging from fashion and accessories to home goods and edible treats. The video series, hosted by Retail Minded Founder and Author Nicole Leinbach Reyhle, was taped daily and allowed for a unique opportunity to explore inventory at ASD. Missed the videos?
